What Are Homeopathy Remedies?

Homeopathy remedies are based upon the law of similarities. Homeopathy was first discovered as a medical science in the 18th century and was once more highly regarded than traditional medicine. This was at a time when opium and other drugs were prescribed as remedies.

Homeopathy works with the natural immune system of the body and allows the immunities to fight off a disease instead of relying on medicine. We are all aware of the “super bugs” that have developed that are extremely resistant to traditional antibiotics. Antibiotics are synthetic materials introduced into the immune system. Some people feel that they have been overused to the point where diseases have evolved that can overcome the traditional medicines.

Some traditional medicines that are used today are not a cure for disease. Chemotherapy, for example, more often than not does not cure cancer. In most cases, it makes a person very ill and sometimes causes death. This is due to the fact that doctors do not know what causes cancer or how to treat it. They use the best that they have, just like doctors in the 18th century used blood letting a cure for just about all illnesses. Doctors continue to use these remedies until something better comes along. Some people get well, others do not.

Other traditional medicines that doctors prescribe commonly are those for depression and anxiety. These are usually addictive and have a host of dangerous side effects, liver damage being one of them. This is because this is the best that doctors have. The pharmaceutical companies have a lot of stake in depression and anxiety as well. Where at one time these drugs were virtually non existent, in the last decade it appears that everyone is on them.

Years ago, heroin and strychnine were prescribed medications. Strychnine, in little doses, was a popular remedy for nervousness. Heroin was cough medicine for children. Cocaine was also considered a great cure for depression as it gave you somewhat of a boost. Doctors did not know that these drugs were dangerous and highly addictive as they were the best they had at the time.

One of the reasons that people are turning to Homeopathy is that they are getting tired of taking various medications that seem to have dangerous side effects. They are beginning to question the medical community that was always above reproach and questioning. They are beginning to look for alternative ways to treat illnesses instead of relying on medication.

The idea of treating the entire body instead of the disease also appeals to people. This is the basic principal of Homeopathy and appeals to those who do not want their disease to be treated and not the rest of their bodies. Homeopathy looks to why you have the disease instead of just treating the disease as if it belongs in the body. It rallies the immune system to fight off disease naturally, as homeopaths believe nature has intended.

There are about 30 different popular remedies that are commonly used in homeopathy today. A homeopath can prescribe the right remedy for what ails you. You may need more than one consultation in order to get the right remedy, but in the end, the symptoms will not recur.
